Suitable video bitrate

Video bitrate — shows how much memory a 1-second video takes. For a bitrate of 1 Mbps, 1048576 bits (or 131072 bytes) of disk space per second will be used. The 15-second video will take up 1.875 megabytes of hard disk space.

Popular video hosting services use the following bitrate limits:

Video resolution Bitrate, standard frame rate
(24, 25, 30)
Bitrate, high frame rate
(48, 50, 60)
8K 80 - 160 Mbit 120 - 240 Mbit
2160p (4K) 35-45 Mbit 53-68 Mbit
1440p (2K) 16 Mbit 24 Mbit
1080p 8 Mbit 12 Mbit
720p 5 Mbit 7.5 Mbps
480p 2.5 Mbit 4 Mbit
360p 1 Mbit 1.5 Mbps
