Favicon.ico file
The favicon.ico file is the very first favicon in the history of the Internet. Now it is most preferable to set a vector SVG favicon directly in the body of an HTML document. It will provide maximum quality when displayed. But you still need to have the favicon.ico file on your server.
The following requirements apply to this file:
- Be 32 by 32 pixels in size, since this is the size used in Ultra HD monitors. And Full HD will easily reduce the 32 pixel image to the 16 they need.
- Have PNG compression, despite the expansion of the ico.
